Some America trivia for you to enjoy. Happy 4th of July!
- On the flag the blue stands for justice, the white stands for purity and the red stands for valor
- The eagle on the Great Seal of the United States holds 13 arrows on one claw and 13 olive branches in the other. These stand for the power of peace and the power of war. The eagle originally faced the arrows until President Truman turned the eagle's head to face the olive branches.
- The pyramid on the $1 bill is the reverse side of the Great Seal. The pyramid stands for strength and duration.
- The lyrics for the "Star Spangled Banner" come from the poem "The Defense of Fort Henry," written in 1841. It was not adopted as the National Anthem until 1931. Prior to the "Star Spangled Banner", "My Country tis of Thee" was the defacto national Anthem. The melody is derived from the British national anthem "God Save the Queen"
